Acoustic & Lighting Studio Project

The studio was redesigned in a new and fresh way. Bright colors of green and orange fill the space. Linear lights are used above the desks as ambient light in the space as well as ring lights are used to help with acoustics and overall lighting in the space. Desks are arranged for collaboration among students. The back of the studio is used for individual work time or group projects. 3 person tables are evenly spaced from each other to prevent the spread of germs as post-pandemic design element.  To create contrast on the back wall, a green felt soft screen is used to help with sound absorption and acoustics in the space. The back of the studio, where the original work room was, it was opened to create a seating area that look like stairs. Using green carpet in the area creates an illusion of sitting outside. Paired with a green leaf design wallpaper, you feel as if you are sitting outside in a tropical area. The studio is a place for everyone to feel welcome, using height adjustable desks for students that prefer to sit or stand during class. Live plants are spread throughout the space as well as large windows added into the studio to add more sunlight into the space. The studio is a space to get work done and be creative, creating a bright environment can inspire students to go outside of the box with their designs.
